Bill Roth and I met in the early 1990s when I traveled on the original Big East football syndication package from 1991-1995 as the AP/graphics coordinator.   High school students who are thinking of a career in the sports media business in production or on-air, a visit to Virginia Tech would be worth the trip to meet Bill Roth.

I went to Blacksburg, VA to speak at two of Bill Roth’s Sports Media Communication Department classes at Virginia Tech. We wound up at Cassell Coliseum that night as unranked Virginia Tech stunned #5 Duke in a thrilling game.
